As Camp Professionals, we see the summer camp experience from a different perspective. Check out this fantastic article by our friend, partner, and co-founder Andy Pritikin explaining why Camp is the “Ultimate 21st Century Skills Learning Environment”
Summer Camp: The Ultimate 21st Century Skills Learning Environment
Andy is the father of two, the President of the NY/NJ division of the American Camp Association (ACA), and the owner of Liberty Lake Day Camp in Bordentown, New Jersey. Andy is a logistics wizard, with an unrivaled understanding of the challenges–and rewards–that operating a day camp present. We’ve been fortunate to have him aboard at Everwood, and as we continue to grow, Andy’s insight remains a valued resource.
While it’s unclear to us where he finds the time, Andy also managed to raise more than a quarter of a million dollars for the New Jersey Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. For his effort, Andy was named Bordentown’s 2013 Man of the Year. And while that’s a pretty cool award, that’s not the only contest he’s won in his day: back in 1995, Andy and his rock band won the television talent show Star Search. As the only member of our founding team that’s able to say they’ve shook Ed McMahon’s hand, we’ll concede that Andy might also be the Most Interesting Man at Everwood.
